01 Scope
IEC 60335-2-29 specifies safety requirements for household and similar battery chargers (including charging circuits within appliances) with IEC 60335-1.

03 Terms and definitions
Battery chargerEquipment/circuit converting mains to low voltage for charging batteries.
04 Technical requirements
Charge termination/current limiting to prevent overcharge; no hazardous output voltage.
Reverse polarity, short circuit, wrong battery type shall not cause fire/explosion.
Apply IEC 60335-1 with this Part's additions.
